I was interested in trying Leticia’s Mexican Cocina because of the great reviews that I read on Yelp. I have been addicted to the Yelp app on my phone for a while now. It is fun to see which restaurants are around and read all of their reviews.
When I walked into Leticia’s, I was almost fooled by the rustic decor and no frills dining tables. This restaurant is very basic I assumed, and then I saw the 30 minute wait for a table. Of course we decided to wait because it was a special occasion, and because the guy next to me said that the food at Leticia’s is better than the food in Mexico.
Once we finally got a table, I was starving by then and ready to order my meal. I ordered a burrito with rice and beans, and my husband ordered their famous queso tacos with shrimp. While we waited for our meal to come, I sampled their chips and salsa trio. They give you two salsas and a bean dip. Their chips are thick and crunchy, I enjoyed them with the bean dip the most.
Once our meal came, I had already eaten a lot of chips at this point.
My burrito came with rice and beans inside and cheese melted on top. I am a huge fan of burritos, and this one was very delicious. I also liked the cheese on top of the beans, it made the beans taste different than normal pinto beans.
My husband enjoyed his shrimp queso tacos also. It comes with cheesy rice and beans.
We also ordered a fried ice cream dessert to celebrate my birthday. We ordered ours without whip cream. I was very full at this point, but their fried ice cream is crunchy and caramel goodness. I enjoyed every bite that I could eat after that large meal.
I was very happy with the entire meal from Leticia’s, and I don’t say that too often. The only negative aspect was the long wait time, and the slow serving staff.
Leticia’s is located at 7585 Norman Rockwell Ln # 1, Las Vegas, NV 89143. To view their website, click here.
