Coal Vines is the only restaurant where you can eat classy food, while you listen to Frank Sinatra music and stare at a huge picture of him on the wall. In other words, Coal Vines is heaven. It is great place to take your whole family when you are feeling like pizza, but you also want to sit at a nice restaurant. I know other people must have this dilemma right? I feel like most of the pizza restaurants not that fancy, that is why Coal Vines is my favorite classy pizza restaurant.
They give you complimentary fried zucchini chips to hold you over while your pizza is cooking. These things are amazing! I could eat a whole bucket of these if they made them for me…and I don’t even like zucchini that much. They are so crunchy and sweet, it is a nice combination. I really enjoy fried vegetables like the ones at Coal Vines.
We always order the bruchetta, which is goat cheese, basil pesto and tomatoes. It looked like we ended up with 2 different types of burchetta to try. I liked the one with the basil pesto the best out of the two.
For our main course we decided to share small size margarita pizza with olives added. My husband also got prosciutto added to his half of the pizza.
My side of the pizza (see photo above) had a bit of a burnt crust on the edges. Other than that, the pizza was so amazing. The crust is super thin and the slice just melts in your mouth. I loved the huge mozzarella cubes on top of the pizza. When a pizza is made with super fresh ingredients and baked in the wood fired oven, it comes out perfect at Coal Vines.
They also have great brunch food on the weekends. All of Coal Vines food that I have tried has been delicious.
One reason to come here: the pizza is great! The wood fired crust is great when its not burnt on the edges.
The Coal Vines location that I visited is 5407 Belt Line Rd, Dallas, TX 75254.
