Cafe Madrid

Cafe Madrid is authentic Spanish Tapas plates (small plates that you can share with the table).  I love the concept of tapas, because I can never decide which meal to choose off the menu with so many choices.  With tapas, you can choose as many plates as you would like to sample.  I have liked every tapas plate that I have tried at Cafe Madrid, and they have a specials menu to try new tapas.

I am a cheese plate lover, and naturally we had to sample a few of their Spanish cheeses.  We chose the Tabla de quesos, cheese plate with Ibores, Manchego, Idiazábal, and Cabrales served with marcona almonds

We had a basket of rustic bread, which was super soft and fluffy.  I like soft bread when I am eating cheese with it.  I enjoyed the Manchego cheese the most out of all the cheeses, it was super creamy and flavorful.

After the cheese plate we tried 3 tapas that we shared. The first was from the specials of the day menu, fried eggplant with honey and salt.  I am not a huge eggplant person, but it was a refreshing combination of the eggplant and the honey together.  It was hard to stop eating these, because they almost feel healthy.

The next tapa that we chose was the fried potatoes with spicy salsa brava sauce and alioli. The potatoes were super crispy and the spicy brava sauce was just right on the spice meter, not too spicy. Th alioli sauce was also a great combination with the potatoes. They were well sauced and I enjoyed the potatoes.

The last tapa that we ate was the fried goat cheese with caramelized onions and honey.  This one is amazing!  It is the second time that I have ordered the fried goat cheese, because they are so delicious.  The goat cheese and caramelized onions in one bite is together is a foodie experience. If you haven’t tried goat cheese, I would suggest trying this dish.  The goat cheese is perfected in this dish with the honey drizzled on top, and it makes it feel like a decadent dessert.

I would recommend Cafe Madrid to anyone that wants to try a different food experience. They have a lot of vegetarian options on their menu, such as: cheese plates, vegetable tapas and salads.
